How it works
Any text, in any app — mail, browser, code review, chat.
The panel opens next to your selection, already working. First words appear in under a second.
Enter puts the result back where the original was. Esc walks away. Nothing else changes.
Features
Spelling, grammar, punctuation and missing diacritics — in whatever language the text is written. Plumo names the language explicitly, so English never comes back "corrected" into something else.
Pick the two languages you live between. The direction follows the text, so one setting covers both.
Answers arrive word by word — you read the beginning while the model writes the end.
Local Ollama, or Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Mistral, Groq, DeepSeek, Grok and OpenRouter with your own API key.
Every correction is counted; cloud spending shows in the menu bar down to a fraction of a cent.
API keys live in the macOS login keychain, never in a file. The app phones nobody home.

FAQ
Accessibility is how Plumo reads your selection and puts the corrected text back. Input Monitoring is how it hears ⌘C ⌘C. Both are granted once, in System Settings — the app guides you through it on first launch, and never uses them for anything else.
Not for the free engine — Ollama runs on your Mac without any account. Cloud engines use your own key from the provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google…), so you pay them directly at cost, with no markup from us.
A fraction of a cent each — a busy month of writing typically costs less than a coffee. Plumo shows the running total in the menu, so it's never a surprise.
| Model | Per correction | 1,000 corrections |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Haiku | $0.0003 | $0.30 |
| Claude Sonnet | $0.0009 | $0.89 |
| Claude Opus | $0.0015 | $1.49 |
Real measurements, not marketing: a typical correction is ≈1,200 input tokens and ≈180 output tokens.
Yes — with the on-device engine everything works with no connection at all.
Plumo keeps working, free, with the on-device engine. The trial starts only when you choose to start it, and when it ends the cloud engines wait behind a one-time purchase. No subscription, no expiring license.
